What's Already Been Done

A Record Built
With Partners.

Food & Community
Co-led the inaugural 2025 Spring Food Drive with Columbia Community Service — $15,000 raised, 3,000+ items collected, half directed to the Lerner Food Pantry.
Cross-School Unity
Planned the 2025 Tree Lighting with CCSC, ESC, and SGA — Columbia's largest cross-school undergraduate tradition.
Dining Reform
Opened conversations with VP Dunn at Dining Services. The meal-hour swipe limit has already been removed — effective immediately.
Veterans & Campus Life
Planned and served as MC for the 2025 CU Military Ball with the Milvets community.
Club Funding
Working with the Joint Council Funding Committee on club funding reform that makes GS clubs genuinely accessible.
GSSC Gala
Built the GSSC Gala at the New York Public Library in under 70 days from scratch — 760 tickets at the most accessible prices since 2022.

The Platform

Three Pillars.
One Direction.

01 — Continuity
Keep It
Moving.
  • Quarterly resume, interview & networking workshops with corporate, campus & alumni partners
  • Standing grad school admissions panels & peer-led test prep
  • Expand the Alumni Mentorship Program into a permanent pipeline that survives every council turnover
  • Retain GSSC internship stipends, research grants & travel funds
  • Carry forward every open conversation — no restarting in May
02 — Community
Full Access.
Always.
  • Equal access to clubs, lounges & rehearsal space for all GS students including upper-year & Dual BA
  • 24/7 locker access for commuter students — low cost, high impact, long overdue
  • Make affordable event pricing the default, not the exception
  • Address food & housing insecurity at the front door for incoming GS students
  • Frequent, structured cross-school engagement opportunities
03 — Commitment
Money
In Your Pocket.
  • Continue dining reform — next ask: raise swipe maximum from 150 to 200+
  • Pursue financial aid expansion & per-credit discount mechanisms
  • Build external fundraising with alumni & corporate networks to expand student funds
  • Secure the GSSC Gala at NYPL — biggest social event of the year, at accessible prices

Why William

Day 1 Ready.
No Exceptions.

Columbia is one of the most administratively complex institutions in higher education — twenty schools, four undergraduate councils, and a maze of offices that takes years to learn.

William spent two years building that map the hard way. He knows which channels move and which stall. A new president would lose the first semester to onboarding. GS students cannot afford a lost semester.

Get Involved
Already in the rooms where decisions get made Open conversations with Dining, JCFC, and the Alumni Task Force are ready to continue — not restart.

"William Luo is one of the rare student leaders who understands Columbia not as a collection of separate schools, offices, and organizations, but as one community waiting to be connected... to build trust, open doors, and bring people together."
